The device guarantees energy supply, with maintenance of voltage level, from a towing vehicle to the electrical system of a towed vehicle. It involves a separate feed cable (2,5) from the towing vehicle to the electrical system of a towed vehicle. It involves a separate feed cable (2,5) from the towing vehicle battery (1) and fuse unit (3) to an electronic box (10) which is separate from the towed vehicle cables and involves control signals (7) for the electronic box, which control the towed vehicle electrical functions. The electronic box via a coupling unit (8) is connected to a further coupling unit (9) and with the device the towing vehicle electrical system and components are protected against overload. Also prevented is a short circuit or faulty coupling in the towed vehicle electrical sysetm susceptible to the cause of a subsequent fault in the towing vehicle electrical system.
