In a method of supplying combustibles to a gasification furnace for gasifying the combustibles, the combustibles (14) are supplied to a hopper (36) while external air is prevented from leaking into the gasification furnace (10) together with the combustibles (14). The combustibles (14) in the hopper (14) are supplied to the gasification furnace (10) in fixed quantity while an amount of combustibles (14) stored in the hopper (36) is controlled so as to be constant. Thus, external air can be prevented from leaking into the gasification furnace (10). Simultaneously, the combustible (14) in the hopper (36) are supplied to the gasification furnace (10) in fixed quantity so as to reduce a variation of a combustible gas produced in the gasification furnace (10) and facilitate stable operation of the gasification furnace (10).
