A COMPOSITION HAVING ANTI-METASTATIC EFFECT

A composition comprising 20(S)-ginsenoside Rg3 is provided to develop a metastatic inhibitor without causing any side product from ginseng or red ginseng, which are widely taken natural foods. The anti-metastatic composition is characterized in that it contains 20-80 wt.% of 20(S)-ginsenoside Rg3 and is formulated into an injection or an orally-administering preparation. The composition is prepared by extracting ginseng with water, polar organic solvents or mixture solvents thereof, acid-hydrolyzing the extract and then purifying it.
