The inhalation mask (1) has a cup-shaped inner mask (3) whose edge (4) abuts against user's face in abutting position, and an outer mask (11) extends away from the edge (4) such that a gap (12) is formed between the inner and outer masks. The outer mask portion is connected to a gas exhaust port (9) for optionally generating negative pressure in the gap (12) for exhausting the exhalation gas. A carrier device (13) for holding the mask, is fixed to the user, in released position for releasing the inner mask from the user's face.
