The device has a turning handle body (12a) including a prism (20) with a symbol display area (28) that lies in an outer end side of the body. A part (24) receives inclined light from a symbol on a stationary disk unit (32). The disk unit is arranged on a side of the body that is directed away from the outer end side to indicate different symbols by optical projection on the display area depending on turning position of the body.
