<p>The load anchoring tension device is used principally for a timber lorry but can be used for other transporters and is formed by a foot plate fastened to one side of the chassis arms. In the footplate a yoke is movably fixed at one end and to it is firmly connected a tension member operated preferably by compressed air. At its other end the tension member is rotatably fastened to the footplate via a longitudinally adjustable coupling unit. To the footplate a pliable steel wire, chain or belt is firmly anchored. A coupling link is fitted at its other end, preferably formed as a hook, which can be fitted as an extgension to a tension line, which on pressure application on the tension member is stretched to anchor the vehicle load. To create an adequate tension length, the tension component is partly fixed to the yoke in such a way that a length exchange occurs when tension is applied, and partly the pliable connecting link fastened to the footplate is fitted over a break pulley, so that a further length exchange occurs when pressure is applied by the tension component. The load anchoring tension device maintains the load anchored when there is undesirable pressure medium interruption to the tension component since emptying of pressure medium from the tension component is only possible via a pilot-controlled check valve.</p> |
