A method and a system for processing the data communication charge in accordance with a collect call service for data communication are provided to cut the fee for data communication by making a contents server bear the data communication charge of a connected terminal user. A data communication charge processing system(70) comprises a data recording unit(72), a billing information creation unit(74), and a billing processing unit(76). The data recording unit(72) records communication detail record data, such as the amount of data packets transmitted and received between each terminal and each contents server, communication time, the information of each contents server, etc. The billing information creation unit(74) classifies the communication detail record of each terminal, received from the data recording unit(72), according to associated contents servers, creates billing information, and transmits it to the billing processing unit(76). The billing processing unit(76) recognizes a category ID corresponding to the class of each contents server and creates billing information for each category ID.
