A backlight unit for an LCD is provided to minimize the space between a support main and an optical sheet, thereby preventing the movement of the optical sheet due to an external impact, by coupling the optical sheet with the support main through a guide groove of the support main. At least one lamp(16) is formed at one side of a light guiding plate(14). A support main(11) is positioned above the light guiding plate. The support main has a guide groove(111) formed therein. An optical sheet(13), which upwardly transmits the light reflected from the light guiding plate, is inserted into the guide groove of the support main. A bottom cover(12) is positioned below the light guiding plate and coupled with the support main. |
