A mobile terminal for a leisure purpose is provided to enhance user convenience in enjoying leisure or sports by including a terrestrial sensor, an acceleration sensor and an altitude measurement sensor to calculate direction, speed, altitude and the number of steps in walking. When a compass function is selected through a key input unit(108), a controller(110) displays a direction on an LCD(126) by processing a signal sensed by a terrestrial sensor(112). When a speedometer function is selected through the key input unit(108), the controller(110) displays a speed on the LCD(126) by processing a signal sensed by the acceleration sensor(114). When an altometer function is selected through the key input unit(108), the controller(110) receives a signal sensed by an altitude sensor(116), calculates an altitude, and displays it on the LCD(126). When a passometer function is selected through the key input unit(108), the controller(110) counts a signal sensed by the acceleration sensor(114), calculates the number of steps, and displays it on the LCD(126).
