An LCD and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to achieve sliminess of the LCD by removing a gate pad region. A thin film transistor substrate(200) is bonded with a color filter substrate(100) by a sealant with liquid crystals therebetween, and includes an effective display region(A) including a plurality of pixel electrodes(221) in pixel regions provided by intersections of gate lines(210) and data lines(310), and a peripheral region(B). The peripheral region includes a first peripheral region(C), a second peripheral region(D), a third peripheral region(E), and a fourth peripheral region(F). The first peripheral region surrounds the effective display region between the effective display region and the sealant. The second peripheral region surrounds the first peripheral region, and the sealant is formed at the second peripheral region. The third peripheral region surrounds the second peripheral region, and extends to an end line of the color filter substrate. The fourth peripheral region is formed at one side of the third peripheral region, and is a region of the thin film transistor substrate exposed by the color filter substrate. A gate driving circuit(270) including a plurality of transistors and capacitors are formed at any one of the first to third peripheral regions to supply a gate signal to the gate lines. |
