A bidirectional receiver for cable broadcasting is provided to make bidirectional data communication possible as searching and receiving broadcasting signals, thereby satisfying standards of an off cable process presented by America. A bidirectional receiver for cable broadcasting comprises the followings: a main input unit; a preprocessing unit(210) which filters and amplifies signals, inputted to the main input unit, before dividing the signals into plural signals; a loopthrough output unit which is connected with the other video device and outputs one of the signals divided by the preprocessing unit(210); an OOB(Out Of Band) output unit(270); an inband frequency converting unit(220) which receives one of the signals divided by the preprocessing unit(210), and performs frequency conversion into a preset inband IF(Intermediate Frequency) signal; an inband IF processing unit(230); a first switch(240) which receives one of signals divided by the preprocessing unit(210), and selectively outputs the received signal to the OOB output unit(270) or an OOB receiving unit(250); and the OOB receiving unit(250) which filters only a signal of an OOB band among signals inputted through the first switch(240), and performs frequency conversion into a preset OOB IF signal.
