The device is for connection of a rail with at least one part for feed of current and comprises a contact part for connection to the current feed part so that the contact part remains correct-conductive. The device also incorporates a clamp part which works in conjunction with the contact part for connection to the rail and a screw is arranged so that when the clamp part is tightened the rail is firmly clamped between the contact part and the clamp part. Where the connecting device (27) is fitted in a faulty position on the rail (28), the clamp part (34) fingers (63) are in a position coinciding with the extent of the rail so that the clamp part can be pushed upwards into the narrow passage part (47) of the T-formed track (46) of the rail and the clamp part filters are not mechanically securely fixed to the rail. The screw threaded first part (56) has passed by the clamp part in the faulty position and the clamp part is at the level of the screw unthreaded parts so that the clamp part threaded part is central to the middle of the scerw. The faulty position occurs when the clamp part fingers are in a position coinciding with the extent of the rail when the torque applied to the screw (30) causes the fingers to be pushed upwards into the narrower passage part of the rail T-shaped track. Incorrect connection is avoided by the screw being provided with an O-ring and a washer (38) and then connected to the contact plate (40). Then the contact part (32) is pushed onto the screw via its through hole. Springs (36) are then applied to the screw followed by the clamp part via its through hole.
