An air conditioner with an assistant heat exchanger is provided to transfer refrigerant from an indoor heat exchanger to a compressor via an assistant heat exchanger partially, thereby cooling internal air of an outdoor unit by atmospheric air of room temperature introduced from the assistant heat exchanger. An air conditioner with an assistant heat exchanger includes an indoor heat exchanger(12) for carrying out heat exchange between room air and refrigerant. An outdoor heat exchanger(22) carries out heat exchange between atmospheric air and refrigerant. The assistant heat exchanger(30) is mounted around the outdoor heat exchanger for carrying out heat exchange between the atmospheric air and refrigerant. The refrigerant discharged from the indoor heat exchanger is partially bypassed to the assistant heat exchanger by a first bypass pipe(31) and cooled by the atmospheric air of the assistant heat exchanger. |
