LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY APPARATUS AND COMMON VOLTAGE COMPENSATION METHOD THEREOF

A liquid crystal display(LCD) device and a common voltage compensation method thereof are provided to improve image quality of the LCD device by preventing distortion of a common voltage. A liquid crystal display device includes drivers(20,30), an LCD panel(10), and a timing controller(240). The drivers generate a data voltage corresponding to an image signal to be displayed. The LCD panel displays the image signal in response to the data voltage and a common voltage. The timing controller includes a control signal generator and a common voltage compensating unit(250). The control signal generator generates plural control signals for changing the apply timing of the data voltage. The common voltage compensating unit analyzes the frequency characteristic of the common voltage and compensates the distortion of the common voltage.
