The invention relates to a tyre- inflation method and to a device and machine which are used to carry out said method. The inventive method consists in adjusting the pressure of a tyre (5) according to a corrected set value Pcc which is calculated using formula (I), wherein: Pc is a set value recommended by a car manufacturer and a tyre producer; Tp is the temperature of the tyre (5), which is supplied by a temperature sensor installed in the tyre; and Tref is a variable reference temperature which is selected as being the lowest temperature from the instantaneous ambient temperature measured (37) at the site of the inflating machine (2) and a calculated mean value for ambient temperature, pressures Pc and Pcc being given in absolute value and temperatures T p and Tref being given in degree K.
