<p>A lock construction for securing a movable object to a fixed object. The loc k construction comprises a housing (4) having an interior cavity (18) and an elongated member (5) having a first portion (6) secured within the housing a nd a second portion (7) slidably received within the housing. The elongated member (5) is slidable within the passageway to a locked position, securing the movable object to the fixed object and to an unlocked position, releasin g the movable object from the fixed object. First (24) and second (38) members are slidably disposed in the housing (4) and are movable to engage the cable (5) in the locked position. A rotatable locking mechanism (12, 47) is dispos ed within said housing (4) and is engageable with the first member (24) to perm it slidable movement of the first member (24) and hereby allow slidable movemen t of the elongated member (5) to different locked positions. The rotatable locking mechanism (12, 48) is also engageable with the second member (38) to permit slidable movement of the second member (38) and thereby prevent movement of said elongated member (5) in the locked position.</p> |
