A backlight unit is provided to perform prompt and uniform radiation of heat generated in an LED(Light Emitting Diode) module, thereby improving the performance of the LED module, by using a circulating pump for circulating a heat transfer fluid. A backlight unit(10) comprises an LED module(15) having a plurality of LEDs(13). A heat transfer member receives heat from the LED module. A cooling pipe(31) is thermally contacted with the heat transfer member, wherein the cooling pipe contains a heat transfer fluid. A radiator(33) is communicated with the cooling pipe. A circulating pump(35) is provided to circulate the heat transfer fluid between the cooling pipe and the radiator. A cooling fan is provided to cool the radiator. |
