A high-pressure discharge lamp, a high-pressure discharge lamp operating apparatus, and an illuminating apparatus are provided to increase illumination efficiency by setting a coolest portion of a transparent ceramic discharge vessel with a high temperature. In a high-pressure discharge lamp, a transparent ceramic discharge vessel(1) has an opening unit(1b). A current introduction conductor(2) is mounted on the opening unit(1b) by being inserted into the opening unit(1b) of the transparent ceramic discharge vessel(1). A discharging medium is sealed into the transparent ceramic discharge vessel(1). And, the sealed mount of the current introduction conductor(2) is performed by fusing the ceramic of the opening unit(1b) of the transparent ceramic discharge vessel(1).
