A blast volume variable combustion type heater for a vehicle is provided to realize a blast volume for an optimum combustion condition by controlling size of an air inlet by driving a cover, thereby minimizing incomplete combustion in a combustion chamber and restraining the generation of smoke. A blast volume variable combustion type heater for a vehicle includes a burner(10) having a combustion chamber of a predetermined space, and formed with a plurality of air inlets(12) at a predetermined portion of a wall surface forming the combustion chamber. A supply line(20) is mounted at a side of the burner for injecting fuel. An exhaust pipe(30) is mounted at the other side of the burner for discharging exhaust gas to the outside. A cooling water supply pipe(40) is mounted outside the burner and the exhaust pipe and cooling water of an engine flows inside. A controller(50) is formed correspondingly to the air inlets of the burner for controlling a volume of blast supplied into the combustion chamber. The controller has a cover(52) rotative along an outer peripheral surface of the burner and formed with through-holes corresponding to the air inlets, and a motor(54) gear-engaged with the cover.
