A playback control file generation method for a recording medium, a recording medium reproducing method, and a reproducing device are provided to effectively use original data recorded within the recording medium and additional data downloaded from an external source, thereby increasing product efficiency and realizing user convenience. A virtual playlist for identifying a download list, which designates at least more than one additional clip downloadable from an external source, is read from a recording medium. The at least more than one additional clip downloadable from the external source is downloaded. A new playlist including a new playitem, which designates at least more than one additional clip designated by the download list, is generated on the basis of the virtual playlist.
