An image forming apparatus and an image forming method are provided to reduce the printing components and to simplify the manufacturing process. A user selects an image process mode through an input member(S100). The user selects one among a scanning mode, a printing mode and a facsimile mode. When the desired image process mode is selected, the input member displays the used image process mode and displays a message for feeding paper to a paper feeding member(S200). When the document is fed to the paper feeding member, a paper sensing sensor arranged at the paper feeding member senses the existence of the document(S300). According to the document loading signal of the paper sensing sensor, a control member controls the image process member so that the image of the document is processed(S400).
