A backlight assembly and an LCD using the same are provided to prevent the bending of optical sheets at the assembling time of the backlight assembly and shorten the assembly time, by fixing the optical sheets using a support member. A lamp unit(400) is configured to generate a light. A plurality of optical sheets(700) are positioned on the lamp unit. A container(800) is configured to contain the lamp unit and the plurality of optical sheets. A support member(900) is formed on an inside wall of the container. The support member fixes the ends of the plurality of optical sheets. The support member is formed at a region where inside surfaces of two different sidewalls of the container meet each other. |
