The invention relates to a method for treating a hydrocarbon feedstock whose at least 80 % of compounds have a boiling point equal or higher than 340 °C. Said method also involves resin removal and consists in transferring said feedstock for a fractionating stage for recovering at least one heavy fraction and at least one light fraction, in transferring at least one part of the heavy fraction for extracting stage for extracting resins contained in said heavy fraction and recovering a purified fraction, in producing a mixture containing at least one part of the purified fraction obtainable at the extracting stage and at least one light fraction obtainable at the fractionating stage and in transferring the thus obtained mixture for to a cracking stage.
