A method for transmitting a phone number during a call by using a DTMF in a mobile communication terminal is provided to enable a mobile communication terminal of a calling party to transmit a DTMF signal corresponding to a selected phone number by inputting a key or selecting phone number transmission in a phone book and enabling a mobile communication terminal of a called party to receive the DTMF signal and store phone number data by associating the phone book. A method for transmitting a phone number during a call by using a DTMF(Dual Tone Multi Frequency) in a mobile communication terminal comprises the following steps of: inputting a key in the mobile communication terminal of a calling party and selecting phone number transmission in a phone book, and converting the inputted phone number data into DTMF data, and storing the converted data(S1,S2); checking a cipher of the DTMF data corresponding to the phone number and encrypting the DTMF data by cryptographic algorithms of a public key method if the cipher of DTMF data is the same as a cipher of a specific portable phone number or greater than that, and transmitting the encrypted DTMF data from the mobile communication terminal of the calling party to the mobile communication terminal of a called party(S3~S5); and receiving and decoding the DTMF data, encrypted in the mobile communication terminal of the calling party, and inversely converting the DTMF data, and reading phone number data(S6).
