METHOD FOR EXECUTING A VENDOR SPECIFIC COMMAND AND DISK DRIVE USING THE SAME

A method for executing a bender specific command and a disc drive using the same are provided to execute a patch program by using only the disc drive without adding a separate device like an FDD or a CD-ROM by recognizing a read/write command inputted to be suitable for a specific condition as the bender specific command and executing the bend specific command included in an out-phase command block successively inputted. An HDD(Hard Disc Drive) judges whether a read/write command for a specified area of a recording medium is inputted(S310). When the read/write command for the specified area of the recording medium is inputted, the HDD disregards the read/write command(S320). The HDD executes a bender specific command included in an inputted out-phase command block(S330).
