A valve and an iron heating plate are centered relative to the neck of a plastic container. The iron heating plate is positioned into the mouth of the neck, and the valve is positioned on the iron heating plate. A heat source heats the mouth, forming a balloon. The iron heating plate is removed from the neck to which the valve is then joined. The joint is then cooled.
