The system for adapting operation and costs of transmission and services has an equipment source (S) and destination equipment (D) interconnected by a node (N1,N2). The node is used by the operator or service provider. There is a credit bridge (PC) in the equipment source acting on digital word packets transmitted (1) and a toll centre (3) beyond the credit node modifying the payment token according to operations effected on the packets received. The payment token comprises information adapted to the operations, and contents of the operation to provide the real factored cost of the equipment source or credit node to effect the operations.
