<p>The method involves writing an alphanumeric identification (ID) code (5) on the product, where the code includes an internet website address (6), a code generator identifier (7), and a series of random characters (8). The code generators (2, 3, 4) consist of softwares used during or just after manufacturing to create the unique ID code, print the ID code on the product and send the codes to a central web-based database (1). A second code, or tracibility code, can be printed as a barcode, datamatrix or in a radio frequency identification (RFID). The random characters can be based on the date or time when the product was manufactured, or can be purely random characters. The tracibility code, is created by replacing the random characters in the alphanumeric ID code by a series of X's.</p> |
