The method for identifying the species by the parameters of the scapula is based on the discriminant analysis. The scapula is removed from the skeleton or the carcass of the unspecified animal. Then the scapula is cleaned, the osteometry is performed, the indices are calculated and used as the terms of the discriminant equation for estimating the species-specific parameters. Eight osteometric measurements are performed, and five indices are calculated. If the values of all species-specific parameters are negative, the animal is identified as a rabbit. Otherwise, the species to be identified is one for which the algebraic meaning of the species parameter in the biggest.
