A threaded joint for steel pipe that without causing any adverse influence on human health and environment, permits repeated fastening/unfastening of threaded joint and excels in anti-seizing property, corrosion resistance and airtightness. There is provided a threaded joint for steel pipe composed of a pin and a box, having at at least one side a threaded portion or nonthreaded metal contact portion furnished with a solid lubricant coating comprising a binder, copper powder and at least one lubricating powder selected from among graphite, mica, calcium carbonate and kaolin.
