METHOD FOR DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS BETWEEN MECHANICAL AND DYNAMIC ILEUS

The method for the differential diagnosis between mechanical and dynamic ileus provides for estimating the excitability threshold and the amplitude of the contractions with the aid of the pressure probe inserted into the rectum. The excitability threshold of 5-7 mA and the amplitude of the contractions of 50 mm of water and more are indicative of the mechanical ileus. The increasing excitability threshold up to 14 mA with the amplitude of the contractions of 50 mm of water and less are regarded as the signs suggesting the dynamic ileus.
