PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more reliable method for managing communication between nodes of a distributed message passing operating system. SOLUTION: In the method, a transmission request to a remote node is generated by a local node, an initial packet is transmitted to the remote node by the local node (502). The initial packet includes a local connection identifier and a local node descriptor showing the remote node. The initial packet is received by the remote node, and a receiving connection structure related to the local node descriptor is generated by the remote node. In response to the receipt of the initial packet, a confirmation packet is transmitted to the local node to establish the transmission connection. The confirmation packet includes the local node descriptor, the local connection identifier, a remote connection identifier and a remote node descriptor showing the local node.
