PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which can readily determine permission/prohibition of processes such as copy, transmission to outside by facsimile communication, etc. for images of individual manuscripts in a short period of time. SOLUTION: MFP 1 reads identification information stored in an IC tag attached to the manuscript by a tag reader 23 and does not process the image read from the manuscript in accordance with a processing mode stored in a processing mode storage unit 131 in association with the read identification information.
