Disclosed is a display device oon a power saw ( 2 ) comprising a saw blade ( 3 ) as a tool, a handle ( 4 ) as an extension of the tool, and a grip ( 6 ) which is used for holding the power saw ( 2 ) and is disposed essentially perpendicular to the tool. The inventive display device is provided with a laser ( 8 ) having a laser beam that can be activated. The display device is arranged at the end of the tool, which is located opposite the tool and/or below the handle ( 4 ) in such a way that the laser beam on the power saw ( 2 ) is oriented at an angle (a) of more tha 0° and less than 90°, preferably less than 45°, relative to the tool axis ( 10 ) while the laser beam and/or the laser ( 8 ) is/are optionally directed to one side of the tool axis ( 10 ) or the other.
