<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive infrared laser photosensitive composition which has wide development latitude, while maintaining high sensitivity and solubility of the exposed areas with suppressed ablation, and a positive infrared laser planographic original that uses it as a recording layer and having a wide development latitude with the ablation suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: This is a photosensitive composition containing (A) a polymer, having a sulfonium group at the side chain, (B) an infrared absorbing agent, and (C) alkali-soluble resin.
