<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for forming an excellent image without a void. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 transfers a toner image to a sheet of paper, in such a manner that a potential difference (bias voltage) is generated between a backup roll 14 and a secondary transfer belt 13, in a secondary transfer position formed by the secondary transfer belt 13. When the leading edge of the sheet of paper passes through the secondary transfer position, the image forming apparatus 100 applies a bias voltage lower than that formed when a part other than the leading edge of the sheet of paper passes through, so that discharge occurring in the intermediate transfer belt 13 is suppressed to prevent the void from occurring on the sheet of paper which is formed afterward. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
