VERTICAL SEISMIC PROFILING METHOD

In a method of vertical seismic profiling, a seismic source (S) is activated at a first location and the source signature in a near field of the seismic source is measured. The acoustic signal resulting from the activation of the seismic source (S) is received at a downhole location (53) in a receiver borehole. The received signal is processed using a deconvolution filter derived from a zero phase equivalent of the far field signature. A system and a computer readable medium for performing the method are also disclosed.
