<p>[PROBLEMS] To provide a signal separating apparatus wherein a simple process and a simple apparatus structure can be used to swiftly separate, with reliability, signals outputted from different positions of a two-dimensional plane or a three-dimensional space. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A superimposed signal, in which output signals from output sources (201,202) located at different positions have been superimposed on each other, is detected as an instantaneous mixture sum of the time gradients related to the output signals. Because the separation of the output signals is performed based on the instantaneous mixture sum of the time gradients, the detected signals can be detected as not scalar amounts (sound pressure) but vector amounts (sound pressure gradients). Therefore, a simple process and a simple apparatus structure can be used to swiftly separate, with reliability, the output signals as well as the directions of the output sources.</p> |
