The invention relates to a roller comprising a flexible sheet (F), such as an absorbent fibrous material, formed by winding the sheet around a winding axis, creating a hole in the centre, and comprising a first group (10) of interconnected coils. The roller is characterised by the fact that it comprises a second group (20) of coils which are not interconnected, between the hole in the centre and the first group (10). The inventive roller is reliable throughout the period of use thereof and is easy to operate, especially if it is a centrally winding roller.
