<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that light from a light source enters the inside of a finger placement part due to an incident angle, light is not reflected on the image sensor side in the case of standby for finger placement (a finger is not placed) and consequently, an abnormality can not be detected even if the abnormality that the light source is not lit or that an image sensor does not normally operates is to be monitored by inspecting the light source or a sensor during the standby for the finger placement. <P>SOLUTION: A finger placement part 1 is constituted so that it is inclined to a predetermined angle when the finger 11 is placed while having a hinge 2. The light of the light source 3 is made incident at an angle larger than a total reflection angle θ0 in the case of standby for the finger placement and made incident at an angle smaller than the total reflection angle θ0 when the finger is placed. As a result, the light from the light source 3 does not enter the inside of the finger placement part, totally reflected and captured by an image sensor 4 in the case of standby for the finger replacement. When the finger is placed to read a fingerprint image, the finger placement part 1 rotates centering around the hinge 2 with a spring, the incident angle of the light changes and registration and collation are performed without trouble. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
