<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf ball capable of obtaining an excellent sphericity even when a cover is formed to be extremely thin. <P>SOLUTION: A method is disclosed for manufacturing the golf ball which includes: a core; and one or a plurality of cover layers for covering the core, where at least one cover layer is the thin layer having a thickness being not more than 1.0mm. When the thin layer is formed, the core or a spherical body, which is obtained by covering the core with the cover layer, is held in a mold cavity, and then, a synthetic resin material is injected into a space which is formed between the surface of the core or the spherical body and the inner surface of the mold cavity so as to form the cover layer on the surface of the core or the spherical body. Then, the cover layer is ground by a specified grinder to have a thickness being not less than 0.1mm. Consequently, the thin layer with the desired thickness is formed on the surface of the core or the spherical body through the use of the method. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
