<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device capable of surely detecting that sheets are used up and achieving high productivity. <P>SOLUTION: A control means 23 controls the image forming operation of an image forming section 50B in response to a result of detection of a sheet existence detecting means for detecting existence of sheets S in a sheet housing part 2a. After starting the sheet S feeding operation, when the sheet existence detecting means detects that the sheets of the sheet housing part 2a is used up, the control means 23 determines that the sheet, which is fed immediately before this feeding operation, is the last sheet.
