<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system including a device using resources of external equipment, and to provide a method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The media player 52 uses one or more resources provided by the external equipment 56. The external equipment comprises a remote storage area 58, a software 59, a network interface 60, and a central processing unit 61. Since the media player 52 uses the resources of the external equipment, such resources do not need to be provided in duplicate for the media player 52, and the media player 52 can be constituted at lower costs, and still extended functions can be provided for the storage area 58 and the network interface.
