PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To multiplex light guided by a plurality of multimode optical waveguides without using an optical means or the like. SOLUTION: The multimode multiplexer is equipped with an incident side optical fiber 20 having a plurality of optical waveguides and one exiting end, and an outgoing side optical fiber 3 having its incident end connected to the exiting end of the incident side optical fiber 20. The plurality of optical waveguides are bundled without arranging any optical waveguide in the center to form one exiting end, the core at which satisfies a relation of NA<SB>input</SB>×D<SB>input</SB>≤NA<SB>output</SB>×D<SB>output</SB>, (where NA<SB>input</SB>is the numerical aperture of the exiting end of the incident side optical fiber 20, D<SB>input</SB>is the core diameter of the exiting end of the incident side optical fiber 20, NA<SB>output</SB>is the numerical aperture of the incident end of the outgoing side optical fiber 3, and D<SB>output</SB>is the core diameter of the incident end of the outgoing side optical fiber 3).
