PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device which can dissolve fault of increasing the impedance component of a combined board for driving scan electrodes and sustain electrodes and which can be miniaturized and a driving method thereof. SOLUTION: The driving method of the plasma display device has a step for selecting a discharge cell to be turned on in a first subfield by applying a first scan pulse (VscL1) to the scan electrodes during an address period of the first subfield while sustain electrodes are biased at a reference voltage (0V), a step for alternately applying sustain discharge pulses (Vs,-Vs) to the scan electrodes during a sustain period of the first subfield, a step for selecting a discharge cell to be turned off in a second subfield by applying a second scan pulse (VscL2) to the scan electrodes during an address period of the second subfield, and a step for alternately applying sustain discharge pulses (-Vs,Vs) to the scan electrodes during a sustain period of the second subfield.
