PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal converter capable of speedily coping with a digital signal even if the digital signal output from a DSP comes into an abnormal phenomenon in which the signal always becomes high level, and to provide a signal conversion method and the like. SOLUTION: This invention relates to a DAC 31 which receives a digital signal in a unit of a bit string of a predetermined length output from a digital signal processing part 2 performing processing of the digital signal, and converts the signal into an analog signal to output it in the unit, and the DAC 31 is provided with an abnormal signal output part 31c which detects an abnormality of the received digital signal and outputs a signal indicating the abnormality when the abnormality is detected.
