PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for accurately measuring a cross-sectional shape of an object to be measured using light section method, and to provide a device therefor. SOLUTION: Plane light I is irradiated from a laser 11 to the object 1 to be measured which is conveyed at a predetermined speed by a conveying device 20. Reflected light R, from a reflection part 1R of the object 1 to be measured, is picked up by a two-dimensional camera 12. Image data of a plurality of places on the picked up object 1 are composited by an operation device 14, so as to calculate the cross-sectional shape of the object 1, based on the synthesized images and a speed signal from a conveying speed detecting means 13.
