PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reel for a leveling line, which exhibits a flat shape as a whole even when a leveling line (12) of a long length is wound on the reel to increase the winding amount on the same, can be easily put in pockets of working clothes, is good in portability, free from a risk of loosing the same unlike a conventional cylindrical reel for a leveling line, and contributes to good working efficiency. SOLUTION: The reel is formed of a pair of right and left elliptic side walls (2), (1) as viewed from the side, a central cylinder portion (3) connecting between central portions of the side walls (2), (1), and two bridging rods (4), (5) connecting between one ends of the side walls (2), (1) and the other ends of the same respectively.
