PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scum skimmer which collects and removes floating scum efficiently without decreasing a surface velocity in a treatment tank, and prevents formation of a dead water region, and causes no deterioration in water treatment efficiency. SOLUTION: A horizontally moving guide rail 2 is attached to the aerial part of a water passage in a sewage treatment tank 1. A guide 5 installed on a suction cover 4 covering the outer periphery of a submerged agitator 3 below the guide rail 2 engages the submerged agitator 3 with the guide rail 2. The upstream side leading upper edge part of the suction cover 4 is notched to form a divergent suction port 6. A float 7 for floating the submerged agitator 3 is installed on the outer periphery of the suction cover 4. The submerged agitator 3 is moored by a mooring instrument 9 attached to the guide 5. A rudder plate is vertically installed at the end part of a discharge port 7 so as to be horizontally rotatable. An extendable structure for applying invert rotation force is attached to the rudder plate. The submerged agitator 3 is self-propelled in the horizontal direction by switching operation of a steering lever connected to the tip end of the rudder plate. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
