PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a popcorn making toy which is made safer even when an isolated infant or child plays with it by a safe structure formed against a hand or a finger even as inserted through an opening part for releasing popcorns. SOLUTION: The popcorn making toy is formed of a base part having a roughly circular body part and a front rim part protruding horizontally from the body part and a roughly semi-spherical cover part securely placed on the body part in the base part and has an inner cylinder part internally provided with a heater plate and a heating plate within the body part and the opening part for taking out popcorns beside the body part. A guard plate is so arranged on the outer peripheral surface of the inner cylinder part facing the opening part as to be formed in a circular arc along the outer peripheral surface.
